Rachel's Flatbread Pizza

Here is a fun, easy and healthy way to have pizza.

My 6 year old daughter helped prepare this yummy meal. It was perfectly simple for her since she is only 6.She put two pieces of flatbread onto an aluminum-lined cookie sheet. (Spray aluminum with a nonstick spray) One is whole wheat and the other is white.

I didn't want to open a huge can of spagetti sauce and I didn't have any pizza sauce so we just used some left over tomato sauce we had in the fridge. Rachel used a spoon to spread the sauce around.

Then she sprinkled on freshly ground Italian seasonings.

Rachel's Flatbread Pizza

Rachels loves cheese and only cheese on her pizza. On the whole wheat flatbread she added some freash baby spinach....

....and fresh tomatoes.

Bake at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes or until all the cheese has melted.

Voila! It was quick, fun and easy for Rachel and we all loved the pizzas too.
They were really good. Rachel would love to make them again.
I think that's a great idea.

Em's Meatballs

Welcome to my blog!
I started this blog for several reasons: 1) I thought my kids would enjoy it &
2)I thought it would be a fun way for them to learn how to cook.
My oldest daughter, Emma (9) is the first to cook. She is making meatballs. She
started off with about 2 pounds of ground moose (we live in Alaska). She then lined a cookie sheet with aluminum foil.
She added 1 cup of bread crumbs and 1 egg to the ground moose.
Next, 1 teaspoon minced garlic, 1 TBSP Basil, 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
and 1 TSP Black Pepper.
She mixed it up with her hands. ( I love watching her get messy instead of me.)

Em's Meatballs

Once it was mixed she rolled the mixture into meatballs and placed the balls on the lined cookie sheet. It smelled so good.Place into a 350 degree oven for about 12 minutes.
Once they are done Em put the meatballs into a serving bowl.
Voila! Yummy meatballs. You can eat them by themselves or....
.....in spagetti.
Em did a fantastic job cooking the meatballs. Her dad and I loved them. I can't wait to have her cook again.
